Team Total Goals Markets Explained

Team total goals is an over/under bet on the goals scored by ONE team only, not the combined total of both teams. For example, 'Home Team Over 1.5' wins if the home team scores 2 or more goals, regardless of how many the opponent scores. It is settled on 90 minutes (including injury time), excluding extra time. Own goals count towards the team that benefits.

What team total goals is

This is an over/under bet on one team's goals only, not the combined total of both teams. The basic over/under concept is explained here: Over/Under Advanced: Quarter Lines 2.25 & 2.75 Explained. Here, only the goals of the team you pick count.

Example

If you bet 'Home Team Over 1.5', the home team needs to score 2 or more goals for you to win — regardless of how many the away team scores. If the home team scores 1 or 0, the bet loses, even if the match has many goals overall.

Difference from match over/under and BTTS

Match over/under counts both teams' goals; team total counts only one team. BTTS is only about whether both teams score: What Is BTTS (Both Teams to Score)?. Other market types: Types of Football Markets: A Beginner's Guide to 1X2, Handicap & Over/Under.

The 90-minute rule and own goals

Settled on 90 minutes (including injury time), excluding extra time. Own goals count towards the team that benefits — so an own goal by the opponent can add to the goal count of the team you picked.
